CNET News.com reports that the new version of Acrobat will no longer be a "roach motel". Addressing the problem of how to get information back out of PDF files is a good step, but what I need, as a content producer, is a document that can carry both client-side applications to update the content of a PDF document (as it is, a PDF is a snap shot in time and not an active document), the ability to embed logic to handle changes based on new data (think JavaScript) and support for other types of rich media, like sound and video.
I'd also like to be able to send a PDF file to Kinko's over the Net and have the resulting document appear with bleeds to the edge of the paper rather than with that ugly white border the PDF + Xerox systems at Kinko's produce today.
