Forbes says Microsoft: Law Is Better, But World Is Worse. With the ruling Nov. 1 upholding nearly all of Microsoft's settlement with the Justice Department, the company seems to have won its antitrust wars. But like many wars, even victory has been costly.
My take is that this is really old news, even though the ruling happened Friday. Since the company forged a deal with the DoJ last year, this ruling has been inevitable. It just means that Microsoft will end up in court, again. Which is, based on my experience with the company over the years, an inconvenience factored into all their plans.
