I smelled the mail this morning, oh boy
Oneof the local post offices was shut down this morning because of scary white powder that was initially reported to be "positive for biotoxins" and later turned out to be nothing at all. Wondering if my mail had been rubbing up against those suspicious packages, I gave my mail a deep sniff and all I found was more bills. ![]()
Here's an odd quote about the powder:
A federal Homeland Security official in Washington, D.C., speaking on the condition of anonymity, said future, more comprehensive testing showed no signs of any biotoxins in the powder.
First, it's a grammatical mess. But why would a Homeland Security "official" need to speak off the record about innocuous white powder? In other news, President Bush says he has no current plans for more wars: "I have no specific operation in mind at this point in time," the president said, adding: "I can't think of a specific moment or a specific incident that would require military action as we speak." Gosh, how comforting.
